Do I need a Texas hunting license?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All hunters need a valid Texas hunting license. Youth under 17 can purchase the youth license. Hunters born after September 1, 1971 must also have a Hunter Education (hunter safety) certification. Out-of-state hunters should select the appropriate non-resident license.

What deposit is required to book?

A 50% deposit is required at booking to hold your dates. Final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.

What is your cancellation policy?

Hunt packages are non-refundable. If you must cancel, we ask that you provide a replacement hunter for your reserved dates. We also recommend purchasing trip-cancellation insurance.

Are meals and lodging included?

Deer and guided quail packages include lodging, and many include meals as noted on the Packages & Pricing page. Turkey hunts include lodging with linens; meals are not included but can be arranged upon request for an additional charge.

Do you provide transportation during the hunt?

Deer hunters are paired with an experienced guide and use the guide’s vehicle for on-ranch transportation. For turkey hunts, transportation is not provided by the ranch.

Can I rent a firearm?

Yes. Rental guns are available by reservation at $50 per half day. You may also bring your own firearm or bow that you are comfortable and proficient with.

Is there a place to sight-in before the hunt?

Yes, we offer a sight-in area so you can verify zero on your rifle or test your bow before heading into the field.

What should I wear and bring?

Accepted Answer

Wear blaze orange (cap or vest) and comfortable boots. We recommend eye protection and dressing in layers for changing conditions. Bring your hunting license, an ice chest, and any personal gear you prefer to use.

What happens if an animal is wounded?

A wounded animal is considered a harvest. Our team will make every effort to track and recover it; however, no refunds or exchanges are offered for wounded game.

Is success guaranteed?

No. These are fair-chase hunts. We manage the habitat and herd for quality hunting and our guides work hard to create opportunity, but harvest is never guaranteed.

Do you offer trophy handling or taxidermy assistance?

Trophy handling is available as an add-on. We can also recommend local taxidermists and provide guidance on proper care and transport of capes and antlers.
